What is the course about?
This course is designed to recap essential knowledge learnt in Introduction to flower shop floristry. It also covers 3 practical sessions covering a Valentines design, Flower Shop window dressing and a Wedding or Funeral tribute design.
Why should I choose the course?
The course goes further in depth into the theory knowledge required and will give you practical experience of creating three of the most popular requested designs of a Florist.
What will I learn?
Recap of flower shop research including location, market research and social media advertising.
Continue exercise on Wholesale Webb shop navigation and flower sundries ordering to a set budget.
Plan and research a florist’s window and gift shop dressing.
Research and create visual images of window designs.
Practical application of a floral funeral tribute and floral occasion designs.
You will be informally assessed by the tutor, and you will also self-assess your weekly progress using an individual learning plan
What will the course lead on to?
An Accredited Floristry course then setting up your own floristry business with educational providers.

We have a Professional team of staff dedicated to providing learning support if required, as well as a Welfare Team that is on hand to offer guidance, support and help when needed. Additionally, eligible students can access a wide range of finance and funding support to help them during their time at college.

What are the entry requirements?
There are no entry requirements for this course. However, you must be aged 19 or over and must have an interest in the course area. You must also be willing to commit to a whole short programme of study.

Are there any additional costs associated with the course?
During your practical session there are no extra costs as all basic materials of flowers and foliage will be provided. However, your tutor will advise you will need to bring in extra evergreen foliage and other containers to enhance your designs. You will also need a pair of general household or Floristry scissors.
This is a theory-based course and you will need basic IT skills to use a College laptop within College.
