What is the course about?
This short, non-accredited ACL course follows on from our introduction course and offers further insight for anyone thinking about volunteering or working in a flower shop or starting their own floristry business.
Why should I choose the course?
This course is for adults aged 19 and over from the Cheshire and Warrington area.
It is ideal if you have already taken the ACL Introduction to Flower Shop Floristry or other ACL floristry courses, but it is also suitable for those with no previous experience in flowers or floral design.
What will I learn?
You will explore the different roles and responsibilities involved in working or volunteering in a flower shop. The course includes both theory and practical tasks.
You will need to have basic IT skills and experience using a laptop. A laptop will be provided for the class, but this must stay on site.
You will also take part in hands-on activities, such as learning how to condition flowers for sale.
Course content includes:
- Week 1 (Theory): Services offered in a flower shop and seasonal promotions
- Week 2 (Theory): Navigating wholesaler websites and ordering flower stock
- Week 3 (Theory): Designing floristry windows and dressing gift shop displays
- Week 4 (Practical): Creating window displays
- Weeks 5 and 6 (Practical): Tribute designs for special occasions, including baby showers and Valentine’s Day.
