What is the course about?
This course is designed to give you an insight into making informal wedding flower arrangements. You will acquire the basic skills, techniques and knowledge needed to produce small flower arrangements.
Why should I choose the course?
If you have an interest in floristry and would like to learn how to make beautiful wedding flower arrangements, this course is perfect for you. This fun workshop will provide you with the basic skills you need to produce informal wedding arrangements.
What will I learn?
During this three-hour workshop you will learn basic floristry techniques and materials to produce a variety of designs, including:
- Buttonholes
- Wedding wreath, which can be used as a table decoration or hanging display
- Bridesmaid handheld posy.
You will also learn:
- Which flowers and foliage are best to use for wedding arrangements.
- The common and Latin names of flowers used
- How to cost a design of your choice in order to make a profit.

What will the course lead on to?
After completing this course, you may wish to take part in our Introduction to Floristry and Next Steps Floristry courses to develop your skills further. We also offer short seasonal courses such as spring, summer, and Christmas floristry, which could help you expand your skills and progress on to accredited courses.

We have a team of staff dedicated to providing learning support if required, as well as a Welfare Team that is on hand to offer guidance, support and help when needed. Additionally, eligible students can access a wide range of finance and funding support to help them during their time at college.

What are the entry requirements?
This course is suitable for adults aged 19 and over. No previous qualifications are needed to enrol on to this course, however some prior experience would be beneficial.

Are there any additional costs associated with the course?
There will be no additional costs, as all basic materials are provided. You will be required to bring your own scissors (floristry or general household), a pen and a notebook.
