What is the course about?
If you would like to learn basic floristry techniques using a variety of seasonal wedding flowers, this course is perfect for you! Each week, you will use different seasonal flowers and foliage to create a variety of floral arrangements.
Why should I choose the course?
Ideally, you will have completed the Basics, Design & Concepts, and Advanced courses, so you already have the skills and techniques needed. However, if you have an interest in floristry and want to learn more about creating unique floral arrangements suitable for weddings, this course could be an ideal starting point.
What will I learn?
Each week, you will learn new floristry techniques using seasonal flowers, including:
• Using different materials and containers to create a variety of bridal and wedding-themed designs
• Exploring and creating both traditional and contemporary bouquets, as well as other designs such as L-shapes, table centres, and pedestals
• Identifying the principles and elements necessary for success in each design
• Recording and costing each design to improve small business awareness and planning skills
• Producing at least one oasis-free design, being sustainable and mindful in your work and creations
You will be informally assessed by your tutor and will also self-assess your weekly progress using an individual learning plan.
What will the course lead on to?
After completing this course, you may wish to progress to themed courses such as Summer and Christmas floristry. These courses can help you expand your skills and knowledge and prepare you for an accredited course.
What support is available?
We have a team of staff dedicated to providing learning support if it is required and a Wellbeing Team that are on hand to offer guidance, support and help when needed.
Additionally, eligible students can access a wide range of finance and funding support to help them during their time at college. For personalised advice on funding, please contact our Learner Services Team on 01925 494 400 or email learner.services@wvr.ac.uk.

You will also need to bring your own container, such as a jug or hanging basket. This will be discussed in more detail in the first class.
Please bring a pair of floristry or household scissors.
If you are sensitive to handling flowers or foliage, we recommend wearing gardening or rubber gloves.
