What is the course about?
This creative part-time adult course offers an inspiring introduction to the world of mixed media art. Over the duration of the course, you’ll explore a wide range of artistic mediums and techniques, learning how to combine materials to create unique and expressive artworks.
From paint to pastels, this course encourages experimentation and is perfect for adults who want to discover or rediscover their passion for art.

If you’re aged 19 or over and love art or simply want to get creative, this mixed media course for beginners is the perfect place to start. You’ll learn in a welcoming and supportive environment, where each session introduces new materials and creative techniques to develop your skills.
What will I learn?
Throughout the course, you’ll explore how to use:
- Oil paint
- Acrylic paint
- Oil pastels & soft pastels
- Pencil drawing and shading techniques
Please note: watercolour painting is not typically covered in this course, as we offer separate courses specifically focused on watercolours.

What are the entry requirements?
This course is open to adults aged 19 and over who have an interest in the subject. No prior experience is required, just a willingness to participate in classroom activities and discussions. You’ll also complete a weekly self-assessment using an individual learning plan.
