Do you dream of creating your own brand, working with numbers in the world of finance or even becoming your own boss? Or perhaps you are hoping to gain some new business skills to help you progress to the next stage of your current career? Our business and professional courses are designed to equip you with a range of valuable skills and prepare you for a successful future in the business world.

Trips and visits

You will have the opportunity to visit various companies to increase your commercial knowledge and meet industry experts. Students have attended exciting events such as the Prolific North Marketing Event in Manchester, visited the Bank of England and Houses of Parliament in London, and participated in informative business workshops at Alton Towers and Chester Zoo.

You may even have the chance to venture overseas; previous students have visited locations such as New York to explore the Stock Exchange and immerse themselves in the financial centre of America.

Our adult courses span various aspects of business, from problem solving to building websites. Equipping students with invaluable business skills, our business, marketing and HR courses are ideal for those who already have or are looking to set up their own company. Many of our courses and short business courses are also applicable to those who are looking to boost their employability, enhance their CV, or improve their prospects within their current role.

Our professional courses include CIPD and ILM and attract professionals from HR and management roles within a range of industries. These courses provide flexible online delivery.

After attending a Year 10 Taster Day with her former school, Byrchall High, Alisha knew she wanted to study at Warrington & Vale Royal College.

Alisha secured her own Industry Placement within the marketing department at Reliable Food Service, a local food wholesaler. She attends her placement once a week and enjoys the balance this gives her. Since starting her Industry Placement, Alisha has gained a wide range of marketing experience including working on the website and social media.

Jessica Mottram, a former Padgate Academy pupil, came to the college looking for a route into accountancy and found her perfect course studying Level 3 Business.

Since completing her course, Jessica has been offered an impressive Level 2 AAT Apprenticeship with Accident Credit Group!

Mehsam Sheikh, a former pupil of Great Sankey High School, came to Warrington & Vale Royal College to study a varied and industry-focused business course. It was while studying the popular legal module that Mehsam realised his enthusiasm for law and decided that this would be his future career.

Now, Mehsam is studying at the University of Law to achieve his Law LLB and is looking forward to his future in the sector. He says:

"My college course helped me to prepare for higher education and my career. While at the college, my confidence grew tremendously and my tutor always told me simply that I could achieve my dream of working in law. He was right and I am well on my way!"

Leah Steadman

Leah Steadman

Leah teaches our range of online ILM courses. Her own qualifications include an ILM Level 7 Diploma in Executive Coaching and Mentoring and she is also a recognised Senior Practitioner with the European Mentoring and Coaching Council, having logged over 1000 hours of coaching experience.

In addition to her tutoring role, Leah runs her own successful business, LVS Coaching. She says: “My coaching is about helping leaders who have walked the same path I have. I understand the pressures and the challenges, and I’m passionate about guiding others to find their success in leadership.”

Nicola-Jayne Wells, our Multi-Channel Marketing Apprenticeship lecturer and assessor, boasts an extensive background in the digital industry. With years of experience in the media sector and freelancing, Nicky is now committed to shaping the next generation of digital marketers.

Nicky is passionate about leveraging her expertise to educate our students. She exposes them to real-life scenarios and hands-on experiences to prepare them for the challenges they may encounter in the workforce.

Rach Whitton

Rachel Whitton

Rachel, our Curriculum Manager: Professional Studies & Education, is passionate about teaching, learning, and assessment in Further Education.

Rachel is an expert in her field with a whole host of qualifications under her belt, including Higher Level 4 Apprenticeship in Management, 1st Class Honours Degree in Post Compulsory Education and Training, and a Master's Degree in Education.

Rachel is now also part of the Research Further scholarship, where she applies her research skills to support colleagues in the sector to provide outstanding teaching and learning.
