What is the course about?
Join us for a festive one-off, 3-hour Christmas wreath session, where you’ll create your own beautiful wreath to hang on your front door or display inside your home.
Why should I choose the course?
This session is open to everyone with no experience needed. You’ll be guided step-by-step through the techniques needed to make your own Christmas wreath.
What will I learn?
You’ll create a Christmas wreath using a pre-mossed ring, adding seasonal evergreen foliage and festive decorations using a range of wiring techniques.
You’ll also learn how to calculate the cost of your wreath design for sale, including a full breakdown of materials and labour.
You will be informally assessed by the tutor and will self-assess your wreath using an individual learning sheet.
What will the course lead on to?
After completing this session, you may wish to progress to one of our short floristry courses offered throughout the year, such as Design & Concepts or themed courses including Wedding, Spring, and Summer floristry. These can help you grow your skills and move on to an accredited course.
What support is available?
We have a team of staff dedicated to providing learning support if it is required and a Wellbeing Team that are on hand to offer guidance, support and help when needed.
Additionally, eligible students can access a wide range of finance and funding support to help them during their time at college. For personalised advice on funding, please contact our Learner Services Team on 01925 494 400 or email learner.services@wvr.ac.uk.
Why should I choose to study the course at Warrington & Vale Royal College?

What are the entry requirements?
This course is open to both new and returning students and is suitable for adults aged 19+.

Are there any additional costs associated with the course?
The College provides a pre-mossed ring, wires, seasonal foliage, cinnamon sticks, orange slices, fir cones, and a choice of two ribbon colours.
We kindly ask that you bring additional foliage, such as holly, ivy, or other evergreen varieties. You’re also welcome to bring your own coloured ribbon and accessories to personalise your wreath.
Please bring a pair of floristry or household scissors, as well as secateurs, as some foliage can be tough to cut.
If you are allergic to any flowers or foliage, please bring rubber or gardening gloves. We do highly recommend wearing gardening gloves, as some foliage may be prickly.
