What is the course about?
This creative short course for adults is the perfect introduction to the world of acrylic painting. You’ll learn how to use brushes and palette knives to explore different techniques and styles, giving you practical skills you can use both in class and at home.
Each week, you'll complete a painting using your new skills—building confidence as you experiment with colour, texture, and composition.

If you enjoy being creative and want to try something new, this part-time adult art course is a fun and accessible way to express yourself. Guided by experienced tutors, you’ll gain practical skills in a relaxed, supportive environment where you can explore your artistic style and bring your ideas to life.
What will I learn?
During the course you will learn:
- What equipment there is and how to use it
- How to apply a wash
- How to apply mix colours
- How to apply various mediums to the paint (i.e., structure gel)
- How to create a variety of different land/sea scape images
- How to prepare a canvas.

What are the entry requirements?
You must be aged 19 or over and have an interest in the subject. You'll be encouraged to take part in class activities and discussions, and reflect on your learning by completing an individual learning plan at the end of each session.
