What is the course about?
This creative part-time adult course is designed for those aged 19 and over who want to continue developing their skills in copper and aluminium costume jewellery making.
Building on techniques covered in the Introduction to Costume Jewellery course, this next steps course allows you to expand your practical abilities, explore more complex design methods, and grow your confidence in creating unique handmade pieces.

This part-time adult course offers a supportive environment for hobbyists and aspiring makers alike, whether you’re refining your skills for personal enjoyment or preparing for further creative study.
What will I learn?
During the course you will develop an increasingly bespoke and personalised approach to:
- Shaping and forming copper and aluminium
- Enamelling techniques
- Metal patination and embossment
- Etching techniques
- Construction techniques
- Creative research and design skills
- Soldering
- Combined materials such as glass and porcelain

Upon completion, you may wish to:
- Enrol on our Advanced Costume Jewellery course to further build on your practice
