What is the course about?
This next steps jewellery course is aimed at adults 19+ who wish to develop their approach to costume jewellery making in a variety of creative ways. This course builds on the experiences and skills developed on the Introduction to Costume Jewellery course.
Why should I choose the course?
This is a next steps course aimed at those who wish to continue developing their skills in costume jewellery making and have already completed the Introduction to Jewellery leisure course.
What will I learn?
During the course you will develop an increasingly bespoke and personalised approach to:
- Shaping and forming copper and aluminium
- Enamelling techniques
- Metal patination and embossment
- Etching techniques
- Construction techniques
- Creative research and design skills
- Soldering
- Combined materials such as glass and porcelain
What will the course lead on to?
On completion of this course you may wish to complete our Advanced Costume Jewellery course. Alternatviely you may wish to apply for an accredited Level 1 NCFE Art course.
