What is the course about?
If you’d love to explore the art of floristry using beautiful seasonal spring flowers, this course is the perfect place to start. Each week, you’ll work with a variety of fresh flowers and foliage to create stunning floral arrangements, while learning essential floristry techniques in a relaxed, hands-on environment.
Why should I choose the course?
Whether you’re a beginner or have some basic experience, this imaginative and inspiring short course is designed to bring your creativity to life. You'll take home a unique floral arrangement each week and develop skills that can grow into a rewarding hobby, or something more. Ideal for those with a passion for flowers, the course is also suitable if you’ve already completed our Basics or Design & Concepts courses.
What will I learn?
Over the duration of the course, you’ll gain confidence in working with seasonal blooms through a variety of projects, including:
• Creating classic designs such as a stepped linear Spring garden display and a flat Easter sheath bouquet
• Producing a hand-tied dome of tulips and greenery, finished with ribbon or tape
• Exploring oasis-free arrangements like jug and vase displays for a more sustainable approach
• Enhancing your understanding of colour through blending, contrasting, and monochrome designs
• Embracing eco-friendly practices by upcycling containers and reducing waste
• Building a portfolio of your work for future employment, volunteering, or further development
You’ll receive informal feedback from your tutor and track your progress weekly through a personal learning plan.
What will the course lead on to?
After completing this course, you may choose to explore our other seasonal or themed floristry courses such as Summer, Wedding, or Christmas floristry, or you could advance to more in-depth classes like Design & Concepts. These next steps can help you further develop your skills and may lead to accredited qualifications in floristry.
Are there any links with industry and university?
The course will provide you with a range of basic skills and techniques, which you can use if you wish to start working or volunteering in a floristry shop or market.
