What is the course about?
This engaging part-time adult course is perfect for anyone interested in developing their skills in drawing and sketching. You’ll explore a wide variety of subjects and materials while building a solid foundation in key artistic techniques.
Throughout the workshop-based sessions, you'll work with different media and take inspiration from the styles and methods of established artists. This is a fantastic opportunity to enhance both your creative confidence and your technical abilities.

What will I learn?
You will be introduced to a wide range of techniques and materials, including:
- Layout and composition
- Creating focal points

You’ll apply these techniques across various subject matters such as:
- Landscapes and seascapes
- Portraits and still life
- Architecture and built environments

Are there any links with industry and university?
Drawing and sketching is a fundamental skill in all aspects of the arts, including fine art, architecture, illustration, animation, graphic design, fashion design and product design. Artworks created on this course can contribute to your own portfolio for use in interviews situations within the creative industries.
