What is the course about?
This practical course will introduce you to the joys of life drawing. You will be introduced to the fundamentals of drawing from direct observation, including learning to capture the model in different poses and in a range of media and materials.
Why should I choose the course?
This course is aimed at adults aged 19 and over who enjoy learning new skills and techniques, with the intention to produce life drawings from direct observation.

What will I learn?
During the course you will learn through demonstrations and practical work. Key skills will include.
·        Safe setting up of an easel
·        Simple standing poses, through to more challenging seated and reclining poses
·        Use of drawing materials to capture scale, proportion and form
·        Capturing both subject and background
·        Use of shadows and perspective
·        Capturing the shape and form of the model
·        How to capture hands, feet and portraits through life drawing.

What will the course lead on to?
Completion of this course can lead to the Next Steps Life Drawing ACL course.
Are there any links with industry and university?
You will develop a range of knowledge and skills to better prepare you for future employment. The ability to draw is a fundamental skill, applicable for all creative industries, from architecture and product design, through to illustration, fashion and fine art. The skills developed on this course will be transferable to all forms of drawing and design.
