What is the course about?
Summer is a great time to start making beautiful and eye-catching flower arrangements. If you would like to learn basic floristry techniques using a variety of seasonal flowers, then this course is perfect for you. You will use a range of seasonal flowers to create different floral arrangements.
Why should I choose the course?
If you have an interest in floristry and would like to learn more about creating unique floral arrangements to take home, this course will be ideal for you. Bring your ideas to life with this fun and exciting short course! The course is suitable for beginners aged 19 and over.
What will I learn?
Each week you will learn basic floristry techniques to produce a variety of designs with seasonal flowers. You will create a different floral arrangement each week to take home with you and share with family and friends. You will be able to cost your designs and learn flower names and floristry terminology.
Throughout the course you will be informally assessed by the tutor. You will also self-assess your weekly progress using an individual learning plan and complete a mini portfolio of handouts and exercises. You will be observed, supported, and guided throughout the course.
What will the course lead on to?
After completing this course, you may wish to take part in our Introduction to Floristry and Next Steps Floristry courses to develop your skills further. We also offer other short floristry courses such as spring, wedding, and Christmas floristry, which could help you expand your skills and progress on to accredited courses.
What support is available?
We have a team of staff dedicated to providing learning support if required, as well as a Welfare Team that is on hand to offer guidance, support and help when needed. Additionally, eligible students can access a wide range of finance and funding support to help them during their time at college.

What are the entry requirements?
No previous qualifications are needed to enrol on to this course, however some prior experience would be beneficial.

Are there any additional costs associated with the course?
There will be no additional costs, as a basic selection of flowers will be provided. You may wish to bring additional flowers to complement what is available.
