What is the course about?
This short course is aimed at those students wishing to gain some understanding and some practical experience of plumbing.
This course has been introduced to allow a complete novice to gain the confidence to go on to tackle some of those basic DIY skills to complete at home whether it’s bleeding a radiator, changing a tap or removing and replacing waste traps under sinks & baths.
Why should I choose the course?
This short introductory course covers a range of hand-skills and practical tasks in plumbing to give you the skills to tackle those certain jobs at home.
What will I learn?
Over the 2 weeks you will be developing skills and knowledge in the following:
- Bending & jointing copper pipes
- How to hang & bleed radiators
- How to change a tap and/or tap washer
What will the course lead on to?
On completion of the course students will have the necessary skills and knowledge to confidently tackle those basic tasks at home.
Are there any links with industry and university?
The course is aligned to plumbing practices and can be the first step towards a career in the construction industry if students wish.
