What is the course about?

Looking to build confidence with DIY plumbing jobs around the house? This hands-on part-time adult course is perfect for complete beginners who want to gain a solid introduction to basic plumbing skills. Whether you want to bleed a radiator, change a tap, or replace waste traps under sinks and baths, this short part-time course is designed to get you started with practical, real-world skills.

Why should I choose the course?

If you’re tired of relying on others for simple plumbing fixes, this is your chance to learn how to do it yourself. This introductory part-time course gives you a practical foundation in essential plumbing tasks, helping you develop the skills and confidence to take on jobs around your home safely and effectively.

What will I learn?

Over the 2-week course, you'll get hands-on experience with key plumbing techniques, including:

  • Bending and jointing copper pipes
  • Hanging and bleeding radiators
  • Changing taps and tap washers

By the end, you’ll feel equipped to handle basic plumbing maintenance with confidence.

What will the course lead on to?

Once you’ve completed this short, part-time adult course, you'll have the skills and confidence to carry out common plumbing jobs at home. It can also be a stepping stone to further learning in construction or plumbing if you're thinking about a career change.
