WVR Theatre Academy

Warrington & Vale Royal College is proud to present: WVR Theatre Academy! Year 10s and 11s are encouraged to take centre stage and register now for this FREE 6-week acting, dance and musical theatre programme, housed in our professional theatre and delivered by industry-expert tutors.

We're delighted to invite any Year 10 and Year 11 pupils with a passion for performance and dance to take part in this FREE six-week programme. This unique opportunity allows you to learn from industry professionals, develop your skills, and gain an exclusive behind-the-scenes insight into a real college production.

WVR Theatre Academy will run on the following dates at our Warrington campus:

Thursday 5th November - 5.00pm - 6.30pm

Thursday 12th November - 5.00pm - 6.30pm 

Thursday 19th November - 5.00pm - 6.30pm

Thursday 26th November - 5.00pm - 6.30pm

Thursday 3rd December - 5.00pm - 6.30pm

Thursday 10th December - Performance day - 5.00pm - 9.30pm

Please note, parents must complete a parental contact form before WVR Theatre Academy starts on Thursday 5th November. Completed forms should be sent to schools@wvr.ac.uk.

Week 1 - Introduction

Warm up, meet your fellow attendees and get to grips with some of the basics!

Week 2 - Development

Starting to set the opener and continue developing knowledge of dance, singing, acting.

Week 3 - Rehearsals

Time to refine your work!

Week 4 - Rehearsals

Continue to perfect the piece!

Have your headshot taken for your professional portfolio.

Week 5 - Dress Rehearsals

Final touches added to the performance and a full run through in costume.

Week 6 - Performance

Curtain call! Take to the stage alongside our students to perform the curtain raiser in our college end-of-year production!

With a Master's degree in Musical Theatre, a PGCE specialising in Drama, and over five years' experience teaching Performing Arts and Dance, Amy really is the definition of an expert in her field! Her experience is extensive, from directing theatre productions and teaching overseas in Italy to mentoring aspiring performers in the UK, bringing a wealth of knowledge and industry insight to her teaching.
