What is the course about?
This course provides a comprehensive understanding of the design, installation, and maintenance of electric vehicle (EV) charging equipment in domestic and small commercial settings.
It covers the requirements set out in the IET Code of Practice, BS 7671, and relevant legislation, ensuring installations are safe and compliant.
You will gain a qualification enabling you to safely design and install EV charging points.

What are the entry requirements?
This course is for qualified and experienced electricians aged 19+ that hold one (or more) of the following qualifications -
- City & Guilds Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Installing Electrotechnical Systems and Equipment (2357)
- City & Guilds Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Electrotechnical Services (Electrical Maintenance) (2357)
- City & Guilds Level 3 Electrotechnical qualification (5357)
- City & Guilds Level 3 NVQ in Electrotechnical Services Experienced Worker (2356)
- City & Guilds Level 3 Electrotechnical Experienced Worker Qualification (2346)
- City & Guilds Level 3 Electrotechnical in Dwellings Experienced Worker Qualification (2347)
- Other awarding organisation equivalents
Evidence of certificate and/or ECS Gold Card (JIB or SJIB) will be required.
You should have achieved the qualification within the last 5 years (or show current competency through latest 18th Edition Wiring Regulations).
