You will gain a qualification enabling you to safely design and install EV charging points.

Why should I choose the course?

This qualification is designed for practising electricians looking to develop their skills in EV charging installations as part of their CPD. With the rapid growth of electric vehicles, EV charging installation is one of the fastest-growing areas in the electrical industry, making this a valuable and in-demand skill.

  • Different types of EV charging equipment (EVSE)
  • Design considerations for EV charging systems
  • Testing, commissioning, and handover procedures
  • How EV systems integrate with energy storage and smart technologies.

You will also gain knowledge of real-world installation challenges such as earthing systems (PME/TT), load management, and smart charging integration.

What will the course lead on to?

On successful completion of this electrical course, you could progress to:

  • City & Guilds Level 4 Award in the Design and Verification of Electrical Installations (2396)
  • Other CPD qualifications within the electrotechnical sector

It can also enhance career opportunities in EV charge point installation, working with charge point operators, or expanding your electrical business into EV infrastructure.
