What is the course about?
This qualification is for candidates that have already completed a Level 3 Diploma or Technical qualification in Electrical Installation and are looking to widen their experience and occupational competence by completing the level 3 NVQ. Candidates will typically already be in employment/self-employed in the Building Services Sector of the Construction Industry.
The broad purpose of the qualification is designed to provide individuals with the necessary skills and knowledge to work effectively as an Electrician with the view of completing their AM2 in the near future. The course also includes the Level 3 Award in the Requirements for Electrical Installations BS 7671:2018 known at the 18th edition.

The Level 3 Award in the Requirements for Electrical Installations BS 7671:2018, also known as the 18th Edition Wiring Regulations course, is designed to provide you with an in-depth understanding of the latest wiring regulations. Here’s what you will study on this course:
Core Areas of Study:
Scope, Object, and Fundamental Principles:
Understanding the scope and application of the BS 7671 regulations.
Learning about the fundamental principles that underpin safe electrical installations.
Definitions:
Familiarisation with key terms and definitions used within the regulations.
Assessment of General Characteristics:
Learning how to assess the general characteristics of electrical installations, including external influences, supply characteristics, and environmental considerations.

How is the apprenticeship delivered?
This course is delivered over a 18-month period (but can be completed earlier than this)
You will attend the following sessions face to face sessions held at the Warrington campus:
six face to face sessions to guide and support you through your portfolio with targets set as appropriate. These dates will be spread throughout the year and held face to face at the Warrington campus.
An additional three face to face sessions to study the theoretical knowledge for the Level 3 Award in the Requirements for Electrical Installations BS 7671:2018 (18th Edition) with an additional day required to sit the exam.
You will also have four direct observations in the workplace to cover a range of elements to complete your NVQ portfolio. You must have a qualified electrician working with you to sign off your competence.
*If you have already completed the Level 3 Award in the Requirements for Electrical Installations BS 7671:2018 (18th Edition) there will be a reduction in course fees of £400.
*If you do not complete the qualification within the 18-month period, and the four workplace observations, additional costs may be incurred at £100 per workplace observation.

A sustained career in the building services sector with the opportunity to progress on to additional qualifications and higher-level apprenticeships, such as the following
· Completion of the AM2 assessment
