NEW for September 2027, Warrington & Vale Royal College is excited to offer Combination Pathways, full-time study programmes that combine A Levels, V Levels and technical qualifications.
Our Combination Pathways offer an innovative approach to further education, combining A Level qualifications and V Level qualifications with complementary technical education programmes.
These pathways provide a well-rounded and dynamic study programme, giving students strong academic foundations alongside practical, industry-focused skills that enhance employability and career readiness.

What could my Combination Pathway look like?
Combination Pathways include a mixture of A Levels, V Levels, and technical qualifications. The exact combination of qualifications that you will study will vary depending on which pathway you choose.
What are the differences between the qualifications I can study as part of a Combination Pathway?
Technical courses are practical, hands-on courses linked to specific careers or industries.
A Levels are academic qualifications, usually studied over two years, with a focus on exams and subject knowledge.
V Levels are equivalent in size to one A Level, combining the academic challenge of an A Level and the practical, industry-focused learning of a technical course.
Where can a Combination Pathway lead?
Combination Pathways can lead to a wide range of future opportunities. As they include Level 3 qualifications, they are recognised by universities and other higher education providers. If university is not the right route for you, your qualifications can also help you progress into an apprenticeship or skilled employment.
