What is the course about?
Flowers from Around the World is designed for learners who have completed the Basics, Design & Concepts, and Advanced floristry courses and want to continue developing their creative skills. This course focuses on floral styles and design influences from different cultures and regions across the globe.
Why should I choose the course?
This course builds on your existing skills and knowledge, giving you the opportunity to explore international floral designs. You’ll create arrangements inspired by countries such as Japan, India, Holland, and France, applying techniques learned in earlier courses while discovering new styles and cultural influences.
What will I learn?
Throughout the course, you will:
• Develop advanced floristry techniques to create culturally themed floral designs
• Apply design principles and complete specific techniques for each international style
• Explore the floral materials used in each design and learn how to care for your arrangements
• Learn how to cost a floral design for sale, including a breakdown of materials, labour, and profit margin
• Incorporate sustainable practices and materials into your work
You’ll receive informal feedback from your tutor and track your own progress using an individual learning plan.
What will the course lead on to?
After this course, you can progress to other themed short floristry courses such as Spring, Summer, Wedding, or Christmas, depending on availability during the academic year. You’ll also have the foundational skills needed to move on to an accredited floristry course with another provider.
