What is the course about?
Flowers from Around the World part 3 has been designed for Learners who have attended and completed the Basics, Design & concepts and Advanced courses and wish and to continue to develop their skills with design with flowers from around the world.
Why should I choose the course?
The course will help you continue to develop skills and techniques learnt on the basics, design & concepts and advanced courses and put them into practice with designs and arrangements from various countries, and for part 3 the countries are Hawaii, Africa, England, Greek and Denmark.
What will I learn?
During the course you will:
- Develop floristry techniques to enable you to produce a variety of floral themed designs based on the county.
- Identify and complete floristry techniques and design principles in each design
- Discuss floral material used in the designs and how to make the best of your floral material including how to take care of your design.
- Learn how to cost one design to be sold, showing the breakdown of cost to make a profit and include labour charge.
- Look at using sustainable materials and how they can be incorporated in your designs
You will be informally assessed by the tutor, and you will also self-assess your weekly progress using an individual learning plan.
What will the course lead on to?
The course leads onto further themed short courses such as Spring, Summer, Wedding and Christmas, depending on which courses are available during the terms in the academic year.
The course will give you a basic skill to enable you to progress onto an accredited course with another provider.
What support is available?
We have a team of staff dedicated to providing learning support if required, as well as a Welfare Team that is on hand to offer guidance, support and help when needed. Additionally, eligible students can access a wide range of finance and funding support to help them during their time at college.

What are the entry requirements?
Learners must have attended floristry courses at the College and the Advanced course or anyone who has previous skills and knowledge of basic floristry. Â The course is for adults 19+.

Are there any additional costs associated with the course?
The College provide the basic flowers, foliage and materials to complete your weekly design. You will be required to bring some foliage each week to enhance your design and your own containers, your tutor will advise on this at the first class.
Learners must bring a pair of floristry or household scissors to each class along with a small amount of evergreen foliage. Details of the course will be handed out at the first class.
If you are sensitive to handling flowers or foliage, we recommend you wear gardening or rubber gloves.Â
