Vicki Cottrell is developing her artistic skill set while enrolled onto HNC Visual Arts course

Meet Vicki Cottrell, HNC Art & Design: Visual Arts student, who has recently taken the time to speak with us about her time at Warrington & Vale Royal College so far and what she plans to do in the future after gaining her HNC qualification.

Vicki Cottrell

Vicki Cottrell enrolled on to our Level 2 Creative Craft – Art & Design programme before progressing on to our HNC Visual Arts course, which she is thriving on now. In the past Vicki worked as a marketing manager for a well-known charity, she has also worked in academic publishing as well as being a teacher for 14 years so to be studying HNC Visual Arts is a complete change of career, which she is very welcome to. She loves that this course fits around her current full-time job as it’s a nice-break away.

“I love the class that I am in, everyone is so supportive and honest of each other’s work. Our tutor Sarah is great, she is very dedicated to what she does. Being a former student herself she puts loads of effort into giving the best standard of education.”

On the course so far, Vicki has enjoyed working on the live briefs that they have been given as it is motivating. It gives the students an opportunity to design and pitch ideas to clients, which is great experience for the future.

After completing the course Vicki wants to carry on pursuing her passion in art. We are sure we will see her work in exhibition all over Warrington soon!
