Meet Tim, a retired project manager retraining as a strength & conditioning coach

Tim spent many years as a successful project manager before deciding to retire at the age of 57. After retirement, he focused on improving his performance in triathlons, but soon realised he wanted a new challenge—something more exciting and fulfilling. This led him to enrol on the HNC Sport & Exercise Science course at Warrington & Vale Royal College and then progressed on to the HND course.
Tim chose this course because he was eager to gain a deeper understanding of sports and the science behind athletic performance. So far, he’s developed skills in sports analysis and advanced coaching techniques. He particularly values the hands-on learning and the engaging teaching style, which he says makes the subjects even more enjoyable.
Looking ahead, Tim plans to continue his studies at university with a focus on strength and conditioning. His ultimate goal is to work closely with athletes, helping them optimise their performance through tailored training programs.
Tim highly recommends the HND Sport & Exercise Science course. He finds the content fascinating and appreciates how the lecturers bring the topics to life. He even describes this learning experience as far more enjoyable and rewarding than his first time at college.
