Meet Rubin, HNC General Engineering (HTQ) student

Rubin began his studies at Warrington & Vale Royal College with a Level 3 Maintenance & Operations Engineering Technician apprenticeship before progressing on to the Higher Technical Qualification – HNC General Engineering. He enrolled at the college straight after leaving school, eager to pursue his goal of becoming an engineer.

Studying at the Winsford campus has been a rewarding experience for Rubin. He appreciates the modern facilities and the welcoming support of the staff, which has made his time at the college enjoyable. The HNC also fits well around his other commitments, allowing him to balance his education and home life effectively.

Throughout his studies, Rubin has gained a strong foundation in engineering principles and has been introduced to Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software—a skill he hadn’t explored before but now recognises as essential in the industry. Learning CAD has been one of the highlights of his course, as it is sought-after skill in the industry.

Before becoming a student, Rubin had heard great things about Warrington & Vale Royal College, and his experience has lived up to those expectations. The college has provided him with the knowledge and qualifications needed to take the next step in his engineering career, bringing him closer to achieving his goal.
