What is the course about?
This Level 2 Floristry qualification provides further development opportunities for those who have already completed our Level 1 Award in Floristry. We will also welcome applicants who can demonstrate, through a portfolio of evidence, considerable previous experience, skills, and knowledge in floristry.
This floristry course enables you to develop the creative and practical skills needed to work in floristry, combining artistic design with hands-on techniques. You will learn how to create a wide range of floral designs, including hand-tied bouquets, arrangements, and displays for different occasions such as weddings, events, and retail settings. Alongside developing your creativity, you will gain an understanding of design principles, colour theory, and how to select and care for fresh flowers and materials.
As part of this floristry course, you will also explore how florists work in real industry settings, including responding to customer briefs, working safely, and presenting your designs professionally. The qualification is ideal for anyone aiming to develop a career in floristry or develop practical skills for further study, employment, or self-employment in the sector.
Why should I choose the course?
If you enjoy being creative and working hands-on, this floristry course offers the perfect opportunity to turn your interest into practical skills. You will learn directly through making and designing, building confidence as you learn to create professional-standard floral arrangements using fresh materials. The course is ideal if you prefer a practical learning style and want to see tangible results from your work.
This floristry qualification also helps you take your next step, whether that’s further study, gaining employment, or developing the skills to start your own floristry business. With a strong focus on real industry practices and customer-focused design, you will be well prepared for opportunities in retail floristry, event work, or the wider creative sector.

The college provides the basic flowers, foliage, and sundry materials needed to complete your designs. However, you’ll be asked to bring some additional foliage each week to enhance your arrangements—your tutor will provide guidance on this during the first session.
You will also need to bring your own containers, such as a vase or basket depending on the design. This will be discussed in more detail in the first class.
It is a mandatory requirement for you to bring a pair of floristry or household scissors.
If you are sensitive to handling flowers or foliage, we recommend wearing gardening or rubber gloves.
