What is the course about?
The ILM Level 5 programme in Leadership and Management is a flexible programme designed for middle managers and new aspiring senior managers seeking a thorough grounding in their role and responsibilities, plus the opportunity to consolidate and further develop the key skills and knowledge they need at this level. The course is accredited by the Institute of Leadership and Management (ILM) and on completion of the course you will be awarded with an ILM certificate in leadership and management.
The course is 17 weeks in length and includes a two-hour online induction, seven group tutorials using video conferencing technology, and independent study supported by tutors through email.
The skills acquired on this course include core management techniques to drive better results, the ability to lead, motivate and inspire, providing strategic leadership as well as day to day management, benchmarking your managerial skills, and raising your profile in your organisation.

- 520 Assessing your own leadership capability and performance
- 404 Delegating authority in the workplace
You will be assessed through written assignments which help to develop reflective practice.
What will the course lead on to?
Successful completion of this course allows progression on to ILM Level 7 Leadership and Management qualification.
