Warrington & Vale Royal College apprentices leading the way

We recently caught up with some of our Level 3 Team Leader apprentices whilst they were on their study day at Winsford campus. It was great to hear about their experiences so far and how they are enjoying their work at RMG - one of the largest and most respected property management companies in the country.

Team Leader

The Level 3 Team Leader apprenticeship is great for those who aspire to be a team leader, covering the core knowledge, skills and behaviours needed to become the best in the industry. Topics include project management, finance, building relationships, organisational performance and personal effectiveness. All of the students are enjoying their course so far and have already learnt a great amount of knowledge and skills needed to be a team leader, as well as the various styles of leading a team and how to implement these in a workplace.

The students agreed with their employer, RMG, to do this apprenticeship as a way to develop their skills so they could eventually progress within the company, giving them a valuable opportunity to learn and earn at the same time. Students will expand and further their knowledge on the topic of leadership and management, as well as gain more experience in team leading. This is really enhancing their personal and professional development.

Our students stated that the best aspect of studying at Warrington & Vale Royal College is that it is a great place to learn with all the facilities needed in one place. They immediately felt welcomed by our staff when they joined the college, and tell us that everyone they have encountered has been friendly and pleasant. The students also had nothing but great things to say about their tutor, Sarah, whom they describe as being very reassuring, thorough and “simply amazing”.

Sarah, the group’s tutor, has guided these students from not knowing anything about the topic to making them more familiar with it and confident within themselves. Students say that Sarah is very knowledgeable, goes above and beyond for them and is always just an email away. One student, Georgia, commented: “Sarah is great!”

We asked the apprentices if they had any advice to give to those considering studying an apprenticeship at Warrington & Vale Royal College:

  • Georgia Benson-Vickers said: “Do it! The college is very welcoming, and all of the staff and teachers are so helpful.”
  • Shaun Bradley said: “Go for it. Since being on the course, we have learnt a great deal.”
  • Elle Greenhalgh said: "If you are thinking about it, just go for it. It will be more useful and fun than you think!”

Warrington & Vale Royal College is a top-performing further education college for apprenticeships and it is great to see big companies such as RMG recognise that and use our facilities to develop the skills of their employees. We want to wish our Level 3 Team Leader apprentices the best of luck for the future as they progress through the course and in their careers at RMG.
