Look out for our shelf-help areas

The Learning Resource Centre has a collection of books aimed at teenagers and young adults containing high quality information, support and advice on a wide-range of mental health issues such as anxiety, depression, eating disorders and self-harm, bullying and exams stress. We call this our shelf-help collection.

Our qualified and friendly staff are always available if you need help accessing any resources.

Craig Atherton Higher Education Learning Centre

The Higher Education Learning Centre

The Craig Atherton Higher Education Learning Centre is a dedicated area for students on higher education programmes, situated in the college's LRC, and providing both quiet study pods and breakout areas for group study.

The Learning Centre houses a number of PC and Apple Mac computers as well as providing space for students to study using their own digital devices. The space also houses pop up support workshops delivered by the college's wellbeing & learning support teams on topics such as study skills.

Student LRC Books

Are you taking part in our reading campaign?

Reading is the golden thread that runs through everything we do at Warrington & Vale Royal College.

We run an Accelerated Reading Scheme, a Reading Ahead Challenge, book swaps, a reading corner and we invest a lot of time promoting reading and the rewards that come with reading.

Our students demonstrate the benefits in their written, oral and classwork and we hope continue their reading journey long after. We have been awarded a Gold Award by The Reading Agency for our participation and success in Reading Ahead and we hope to build on that this year.

Follow #wherereadinghappens to keep up with the latest news on our literacy campaign.
