What is the course about?
This programme will provide students with the required knowledge, skills and understanding in order to effectively mentor others within an organisational context. The taught sessions will help to develop students mentoring knowledge, skills and understanding in order to enhance their ability and confidence in mentoring. The qualifications are ideal for both new and existing mentors.
Benefits to employers involve having staff developed as mentors equipped with the skills knowledge and behaviours to implement a mentoring culture with the organisation.

This course will be delivered online with fortnightly live sessions with the tutor, interactive group work and blended learning opportunities in the google classroom.
What will I learn?
You will learn what it takes to be an effective mentor, how mentoring works, how to use a recognised mentoring model, and the tools and techniques to support it. There will be opportunities to put your new skills into practice and carry out supervised mentoring sessions and be able to analyse your own mentoring performance in order to improve own ability.
The 3 units you will undertake are:
300 - Understanding Good Practice in Mentoring within an Organisational Context
301 - Undertaking Mentoring within an Organisational Context
303 - Reflecting on Mentoring Skills within an Organisational Context
What will the course lead on to?
Successful completion of this course allows progression to ILM Level 3 Award in Effective Coaching and a level 5 Certificate in Effective Coaching and Mentoring.

The teachers on this course have excellent links with industry professionals, and students will benefit from these partnerships and also networking opportunities with guest speakers.
