Meet Elaine, aspiring children's counsellor pursuing her dream career at Warrington & Vale Royal College

Elaine works with individuals who have autism and mental health challenges, making the skills she's gaining on this course highly transferable to her role. These techniques have made a significant impact on her daily work. She shares: “The techniques I’m learning have truly benefitted both me and the people I support.

She is especially appreciative of her tutor, Gemma. Elaine says: “Gemma is amazing! Being dyslexic, I sometimes struggle with certain learning methods, but she ensures the materials are accessible and tailored to my needs.”

It’s not just Gemma who has made a difference for Elaine; she also values the extra learning support provided for adult students who haven’t been in a classroom in years: “We even had a workshop with Camron, one of the college’s learning technologists, for extra help with Google Classroom. It was massively appreciated!”

Upon completion of her Level 4 course, Elaine plans to progress to the Level 5 Children and Young People Counselling course offered at Warrington & Vale Royal College, with hopes of pursuing a career as a children’s counsellor. We’re thrilled to be supporting Elaine on her journey and can’t wait to see her future achievements!
