Laura credits Warrington & Vale Royal College for its supportive environment, which made balancing study and work manageable. “I really valued having a day in college for support, rather than doing it all alone. Nicola, my tutor, was fantastic and always there to help, especially during difficult times.”
Throughout her apprenticeship, Laura developed a deep love for accountancy, particularly understanding profit and loss and how businesses operate financially. “I just love learning about accountancy—it’s such a fascinating subject with endless opportunities to progress.”
Looking ahead, Laura plans to pursue her Level 4 qualification and gain more experience in her new role, which offers greater exposure to the world of finance. She’s confident this path will help her work her way up in the industry.
For anyone considering a career in accountancy, Laura has some advice: “If you’re passionate about numbers or curious about how a business works financially, give an apprenticeship in accountancy a try. I haven’t regretted it—it’s a great stepping stone for anyone who’s hardworking and willing to learn.”
Laura’s story highlights the power of apprenticeships to open doors to new and rewarding careers, showing that it’s never too late to find your true passion.
