Meet Nicole, Access to HE: Health Professionals student with an offer to study at the University of Chester in September

Meet Nicole Mcgahey. Nicole is currently studying our Access to HE – Health Professionals course and has secured a place at the University of Chester to study Adult Nursing starting in September.

Nicole 1

Nicole had previously worked in cafés and shops before becoming a care worker four years ago, a job she loves! It was here that Nicole's passion for becoming a nurse was born, but the only thing stopping her achieve this goal was her qualifications. So, she enrolled on an Access course here at the college and is now one step closer to achieving her dream career.

Nicole chose to study her Access course at Warrington & Vale Royal College due to our excellent reputation, strong online presence and our location. The course fits in well around her other commitments, meaning Nicole is still able to work and maintain a social life outside of the classroom. Nicole says that course content is easy to follow, her tutors are excellent and that she's learnt so much on the course - particularly around social issues and the challenges faced by patients and healthcare professionals.

In the future, Nicole hopes to become a registered nurse specialising in end of life care, something she feels her Access course has prepared her well for. Nicole is looking forward to progressing on to the University of Chester and continuing her studies. Good luck Nicole!
