What is the course about?
If you have a passion for digital photography and want to know more about not only taking better photographs but also enhancing your photographs, this course will help expand your existing skills and knowledge.
Why should I choose the course?
If you own any type of camera, from smartphone to DSLR and want to improve on your knowledge of digital photography or get the best out of your camera and photographs, this course is perfect for you.
What will I learn?
The course will show you the potential of your own camera as well as how to enhance and manipulate your images using computer software, such as Photoshop and GIMP.
You will:
- Take photographs for a variety of different scenarios and further enhance your photographs in post-production.
- Further manipulate and enhance your photographs using selection and layering techniques.
- Use a range of techniques for scenarios such as colourising original old photographs.
- Learn further ways to share and safely store your growing collection of photographs via the Internet and social media.

You will be informally assessed by the tutor, and you will also self-assess your weekly progress using an individual learning plan.
What will the course lead on to?
On completion of this course, you may decide you would like to take this course on step further and gain a qualification in digital photograpy.
What support is available?
We have a team of staff dedicated to providing learning support if required, as well as a Welfare Team that is on hand to offer guidance, support and help when needed.
