What is the course about?
This follow-on course is ideal if you’re passionate about digital photography and want to go beyond simply taking better photos. It’s designed to help you build on your existing skills and knowledge, both in capturing and enhancing your images.
Why should I choose the course?
Whether you use a smartphone or a DSLR and you already have some experience with digital photography and want to deepen your understanding, this course is a perfect fit. It’s aimed at helping you get the most out of your camera and elevate the quality of your photographs.
What will I learn?
The course will show you the potential of your own camera as well as how to enhance and manipulate your images using computer software, such as Photoshop and GIMP.
You will:
• Take photographs for a variety of different scenarios and further enhance your photographs in post-production.
• Further manipulate and enhance your photographs using selection and layering techniques.
• Use a range of techniques for scenarios such as colourising original old photographs.
• Learn further ways to share and safely store your growing collection of photographs via the Internet and social media.

You will be informally assessed by the tutor, and you will also self-assess your weekly progress using an individual learning plan.

Upon completion of this course, you could progress on to one of our many other short courses. This course is ideal for those who have previously completed the Introduction to Digital Photography course and are looking to build on their existing skills.
You should have a genuine interest in digital photography, be open to participating in classroom activities and discussions, and be willing to reflect on your progress each week through a personal learning plan.
