What is the course about?

Ready to bring your ideas to life online? This beginner-friendly course introduces you to the essentials of website design using powerful, easy-to-use online tools like Wix. Whether you're building a personal portfolio, a blog, or a small business site, you'll learn how to create visually stunning and functional websites, with no coding required! Discover how to structure content, choose effective layouts, and customise your site to reflect your unique style and goals.

Why should I choose the course?

By the end of this course, you’ll have the skills and confidence to establish a strong online presence, whether it’s for a small business, community group, volunteer organisation, or even a personal project like a family website. You’ll be equipped to design and launch a range of websites using practical techniques that make the process simple.

What will I learn?

This course will help you unlock your creative potential and teach you how to design and share your own online content.

You will learn how to:

  • Use online web development tools to create and manage websites
  • Link and embed a variety of reusable elements within a website
  • Use images effectively to enhance your content
  • Host your online content
  • Understand the benefits of owning your own domain name, such as having a professional-looking web address and matching email accounts.

You will be informally assessed by your tutor and will also track your own progress through regular self-assessment.

What will the course lead on to?

Upon completing this course, you may have the opportunity to progress to another non-accredited course, such as Digital Photography, Essential Digital Skills, or many others.

We offer a wide range of part-time courses for adults designed to help you build new skills, boost your career prospects, prepare for university, or simply connect with like-minded people. Whatever your goal, there's a course for you. View the full range here: Digital & IT courses for adults
