What is the course about?

Every day, billions of devices connect to the internet. This course introduces you to the Internet of Things (IoT) and explains how these connected devices are changing the way we live and work.

You will learn about IoT devices, which are physical objects that contain sensors, software, and network connections. These features allow the devices to collect data, share information with other devices, and sometimes act automatically without needing human input.

All of these devices work together as part of a wider IoT ecosystem. This growing field is improving efficiency, safety, and convenience across many industries, and it is creating many new job opportunities.

Why should I choose the course?

The Internet of Things (IoT) is one of the fastest‑growing areas in technology. New companies, products, and job opportunities are emerging across the world, and organisations in every sector are looking for people with IoT skills.

In this course, you will explore how IoT works alongside other key technologies such as data analytics, artificial intelligence, and cybersecurity. Together, these digital tools are transforming industries and creating new career pathways.

By developing IoT skills, you can make a meaningful impact in any industry, from manufacturing to environmental conservation. Today, more than 26 billion people, systems, and physical objects are connected and sharing data over the internet, and this rapid change is reshaping the world around us. This course will help you build the knowledge you need to pursue well‑paid roles in this exciting field.

Each module includes a short quiz to check your understanding, and at the end of the course you will complete a final short exam. Successfully completing the course will earn you a Cisco Introduction to IoT and Digital Transformation badge.
