What is the course about?

This Advanced course will build upon your existing skills, focusing on the Spanish grammar and how to construct sentences. You will develop reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills through the study and practice of grammar, vocabulary, and pronunciation.

Why should I choose the course?

If you have a good knowledge of Spanish and would like to enhance your skills to the next level, this course is perfect for you. Improving your knowledge of prepositions, adjectives, connectives, tenses and much more, this course will enable you to use written and spoken Spanish with confidence.

This course is suitable for adults aged 19 and over who would like to learn how to speak Spanish.

What will I learn?

You will develop and practise reading, listening, writing and speaking skills.

This will include:

  • Daily life and daily routine (reflexive verbs)
  • Free time activities (past tense)
  • Describing people and place (use of comparatives, superlatives, adjectives placement and agreement)
  • Recipes (imperatives)
  • Festivals and customs in Spain
  • Grammatical structures and tenses, auxiliary and modal verbs, definite and indefinite articles, personal pronouns, masculine and feminine, singular and plurals. You will also use reflexive verbs, adjectival phrases, and noun agreement. Comparisons, conjunctions, prepositions and connectives will also be covered.

Grammar will be covered for around 30 minutes each week and will require homework for consolidation purposes.

You will be informally assessed by the tutor, and you will also self-assess your weekly progress using an individual learning plan.
