What is the course about?
This follow-on Enhanced course is aimed at those learners who have attended the the prior courses, Introduction, Next Steps and Developing your Spanish and Enhance your Spanish to the next level and wish to continue and progress to A2 Level.
The course has six half term, five-week blocks and you will be expected to progress from the first course in September to the last one in June. You can enrol each half term, but expected to complete and achieve each half term course before enrolling and progressing. The course is only available on Wednesday afternoons and only open to those learners who have attended the Enhanced your Spanish to the Next Level in 2025-26.
This progression course is designed to help you practice and continue learning the language building upon existing skills, focusing on the Spanish grammar and how to construct sentences. It will develop reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills through the study and practice of grammar, vocabulary, and pronunciation.
It will focus on developing key speaking skills such as intonation, and confidence as well as analysis of techniques to aid writing, reading and listening progression up to A2 and B1.
As with all languages you need to practice outside of the classroom and you will be given handouts when you attend each week, but no structured homework is given.

What will I learn?
The course content includes:
Use of present and past continuous, use of present perfect, use of conditional, use and understanding of direct and indirect objects, rules of accentuation, formal and informal writing.
The course is focused on extending grammar knowledge, with weekly writing practise, speaking activities with group discussions and listening exercises.
Every week you will practise A2 level exercises in the four skills (reading, writing, speaking and listening).
You will be informally assessed by the tutor, and you will also self-assess your weekly progress using an individual learning plan.
What will the course lead on to?
The College does not offer accredited courses, which during this course and if you wish to continue and progress by attending the Wednesday afternoon sessions, they will help you develop to A2 Level.
What support is available?
We have a team of staff dedicated to providing learning support if required, as well as a Welfare Team that is on hand to offer guidance, support and help when needed. Additionally, eligible students can access a wide range of finance and funding support to help them during their time at college.

This course is a continuation for Learners who have completed and achieved all three of the ACL courses, Introduction, Next Steps and Developing your Spanish all ACL courses are for adults 19+.

For this course you will require will of already been using the books to use during the classes to help you progress to A2 and B1.
