Childcare
If you would love to work with children and make a real difference to their lives, our childcare courses could be perfect for you. The knowledge and practical experience you will gain on your course will lead you towards a successful career in this rewarding sector.
Trips and visits
You will have the opportunity to take part in fascinating visits to unique places such as the International Slavery Museum, Eureka Museum and the Thackray Medical Museum. Students have also been on exciting international trips to Prague, Disneyland Paris, and Poland.
We also encourage our level 3 childcare students to visit different universities. Last year students visited Edge Hill University and took part in mock seminars and lectures.
Industry links
As a childcare student, you will have the opportunity to take part in valuable work placements, furthering your practical skills and industry knowledge. The college has excellent links with a range of private day nurseries, primary schools and childminders, both in the local area and further afield.
You will also be able to meet childcare guest speakers and hear about the different roles and career prospects available in the industry. Previous guest speakers have included a Nursery Manager's discussions with students on work placement expectations and explaining The University of Chester's wide range of available higher education opportunities.
