What is the course about?
The aim of this qualification is to provide learners with the knowledge and understanding of babies and young children from birth to7 years of age with applied knowledge in the early years, 0-5 years.
It includes both knowledge and skills that meet the Department for Education Early Years Practitioner (DfE EYP) criteria in full and map to the knowledge, skills and behaviours (KSBs) within the Early Years Educator occupational standard in England.
Why should I choose the course?
This qualification is ideal for learners looking to work with children between birth and 5 years, and gain knowledge of working with children up to 7 years.
As part of this course you will attend industry placement in an early years setting 1 day a week and complete a minimum of 250 hours. Your assessor will come in to the setting and carryout observations to ensure that you are meeting the Early Years Practitioner criteria.

- Promote positive behaviour in Early Years Settings

The college work closely with the Early Years sector and have worked with them to design an effective curriculum. Close links to universities provides opportunities for visits and support with personal statements.

We have a welfare team that are on hand to offer guidance, support and help when needed. Additionally, eligible students can access a wide range of finance and funding support to help them during their time at college.
