Health & Social Care Academy

The Health & Social Care Academy aims to address skills gaps in the local area by training the next generation of health and social care professionals as well as upskilling those currently working in the sector.

Established with a £1 million investment from the Town Deal and support from Warrington & Halton NHS Trust, Warrington Local Authority, and other key stakeholders from the voluntary and private sectors, the academy offers a highly immersive learning environment and valuable industry placement opportunities. We work in close partnership with local employers, care providers, and health and social care settings to deliver sector-specific training that meets real workforce needs.

With a Health & Social Care Academy at both our Warrington and Winsford campus, we offer a range of courses for school leavers and adults, helping students of all ages progress into meaningful careers in the health and social care sector. Those looking to gain practical experience in a professional, industry-standard environment need look no further!

HSCA Hospital Ward

Our innovative Health & Social Care Academies are equipped with industry-standard facilities. These include a simulation hospital ward, an independent living flat, and realistic childcare classrooms - all designed to reflect the environments students will encounter in their careers.

Students studying in our Health & Social Care Academy benefit from an excellent ongoing partnership with Catalyst Choices. Business Centre Manager for the Health & Social Care Academy, said: "The Health & Social Care Academy has an excellent ongoing partnership with the team at Catalyst Choices. We work together in various ways, including industry placement opportunities for our students, which have, in turn, led to employment."

Catalyst Choices regularly visit the college to deliver guest lectures to our students, as well as making use of our facilities to deliver training to their own staff. We are extremely grateful for this relationship and hope it continues to develop in the future.
