What is the course about?
This short 6-week course is aimed as a follow-on skills course for those who have completed the “Pre- MOT checks - inc Changing brake pads, changing and balancing tyres” or those with basic skills wanting to further develop their vehicle practical skills.
Why should I choose the course?
This short course further develops a range of hand-skills and practical tasks in motor vehicle maintenance that builds on your basic pre-existing skill.
What will I learn?
Over the 6 weeks you will be developing skills and knowledge in the following:
Learn what is included in service checks Learn how to remove and replace Oil and pollen filters Complete oil changes Identify and replace spark plugs Cylinder compression testing.What will the course lead on to?
On completion of the course you could study the following:
Steering and suspension - inc replacing components - dampers, shock absorbers, track rod ends. Students may wish to progress to full certified qualifications in the trade area.What support is available?

What are the entry requirements?
There are no specific entry requirements, however a basic understanding of English and Maths will be required.
