What is the course about?

This short 6-week course is aimed as a follow-on skills course for those who have completed the “Steering and suspension - inc replacing components - dampers, shock absorbers, track rod ends.” or those with basic skills wanting to further develop their vehicle practical skills.

Why should I choose the course?

This short course further develops a range of hand-skills and practical tasks in motor vehicle maintenance that builds on your basic pre-existing skill.

What will I learn?

Over the 5 weeks you will be developing skills and knowledge in the following:

  • Carry out 4 wheel alignment and adjustment
  • Removal and refitting of cylinder head
  • Removal and replacement of cambelt

What will the course lead on to?

On completion of the course you could study the following:

· Students may wish to progress to full certified qualifications in the trade area.

What are the entry requirements?

There are no specific entry requirements, however a basic understanding of English and Maths will be required.
