Amazing Alumni - Jade Ginger

Level 3 Childcare student Jade Ginger completed her course with us last year and is now at Edge Hill University studying Early Years Education with QTS. Jade chose this pathway as she aims to become an early years teacher and decided that going to university would provide her with the best opportunity to achieve her goal. Although Jade has started at university in the midst of a national pandemic, she has settled in well and has covered a broad range of topics within her course. She says, My course so far focuses on the importance of play throughout children‚ learning. It also covers the 7 areas of learning and the inclusion of this within teaching. After completing her degree, Jade intends to teach abroad in several different countries to expand her learning and knowledge. Throughout her time at Warrington & Vale Royal College, Jade undertook placements in a range of childcare settings, which equipped her with valuable practical experience. Jade believes that her college course helped her prepare for university, saying, My college course definitely supports my university course, as it is a preview of what teaching is like through placement, and the assignments set are like a practice run. Jade advises that, in preparation for higher education, students wishing to progress onto university should make sure they practice assignment writing to the best standard they can.
