The evening classes will make it more accessible for adults in the local area to explore their creativity, develop new skills, and gain a recognised qualification, all in a supportive and welcoming environment. All classes will be taught by highly experienced ceramics tutor Huw, whose expertise, enthusiasm, and supportive teaching style have earned praise from many students across the college.
The courses get underway with Introduction to Ceramics, taking place on Tuesday evenings from 6.30pm – 8.30pm between 3rd November and 1st December 2026. Designed for complete beginners, the course introduces students to the fundamentals of hand-built pottery, providing practical experience with clay and a strong foundation in core ceramics techniques.
Students can then progress on to the Next Steps in Ceramics course, also taking place on Tuesday evenings between 8th December 2026 and 19th January 2027. This course builds on the skills developed during the introductory course and is ideal for those who want to continue their ceramics journey.
For those looking to gain a formal qualification, Level 1 Award in Creative Craft – Ceramics continues on Tuesday evenings from 26th January 2027 until 6th July 2027. This accredited course enables students to take their knowledge and practical skills to the next level while working towards a recognised qualification.
