Media student spreads Christmas cheer by supporting local charities

Level 3 Creative Media student Tae-Reece Brown has been spreading lots of Christmas cheer this year by kindly donating advent calendars to the Salvation Army. Tae-Reece says: Every child should be able to count down to Christmas. I think it‚ really important that every child knows there is someone out there who cares.

Tae-Reece also recently helped secure funding for Connect Together, a St. Helen‚-based group which boosts the life skills and wellbeing of children and young people. Tae-Reece successfully pitched at the Parr-Ticipate event, which invited local groups to present their plans on how they would spend the money on projects benefitting the local community.

Tae-Reece has always been passionate about supporting good causes as well as raising the aspirations of young people in the local area. He says: I love helping people aspire and achieve. I have always contributed to the community and I always will.

Tae-Reece also volunteers for a holiday club for children with special needs. The club is run by his mother, a mental health nurse, and offers exciting activities and day trips for the children who attend.

Former Hope Academy student Tae-Reece is also thoroughly enjoying his studies at college, saying: My tutor is very supportive and gets the best out of me. I've learned so many new skills at the college and hope to head to university next year to study filmmaking. Ideally I would love to become a director and make films representing a diverse range of people from various cultural backgrounds.

The college is very proud of all Tae-Reece‚ generosity and hard work! Well done Tae-Reece.
