Sprint sensation Ashley Nemits defends her title to take podium place

Champion sprinter Ashley Nemits has achieved yet another title after competing at the Northern Indoor Championships in Sheffield where she clocked 39.72 seconds in the 300m sprint, a season‚ best. Ashley, who represents Warrington Athletics Club, is now under 17s national champion, after achieving podium positions in national competitions three years in a row. The talented young athlete also currently holds the record for the UK‚ under 14s 400m. The former Bridgewater High School student is currently studying on the college‚ Level 2 Media Make-up course. Alongside this, she has been selected to complete a prestigious Diploma in Sporting Excellence, reserved for elite athletes who have the potential to achieve excellence in their sport and who are looking to perform at the highest level. Describing her career goals, Ashley says, I didnt want to pursue a career in sport besides running professionally. It can be a short career as you could get injured tomorrow and have to stop running. Currently, I'm really enjoying my media make-up course and want to pursue working in film whilst continuing to run competitively. Dedicated Ashley trains five times a week at Wigan Robin Park with her coach Trevor Painter, husband of former Olympian Jenny Meadows, and has her sights set on representing Team GB in the Commonwealth Games and ultimately the Olympic Games.
