The event - ‘Memories of Mags’ – was held on Thursday 27th March and was truly a collaborative effort by students and staff from the HSCA, who pulled together with enthusiasm and compassion. The Warrington & Vale Royal College community came out in full support, contributing donations and participating in an afternoon filled with engaging activities. Highlights included stalls such as ‘Pop Pong’, ‘Sweet & Sip’, ‘Guess the Bear’s Name’, face painting, a coffee and cake sale, and more. These interactive stalls were created, set up and managed by the students themselves, as they rallied together in solidarity and support.
The day aimed to bring awareness to the vital work of Alzheimer’s Society; a charity which provides support to families affected by the condition. In addition to raising awareness, the fundraiser sought to raise much-needed donations, with all proceeds going towards the charity.
The dedication and hard work paid off, and the ‘Memories of Mags’ event raised an impressive £336.12 on the day. In addition to this, the Massey family have raised a remarkable £6,000 through their own charity evening, which is a testament to their unwavering commitment to the cause.
The college felt deeply honoured to support the cause. Health & Social Care tutor Kirsty Rampling shared her gratitude: “We are incredibly thankful for the support from our students, staff, and the wider community. ‘Memories of Mags’ was a beautiful tribute to loved ones lost, a celebration of togetherness, and a powerful step forward in raising awareness.”
