College shows appreciation for frontline healthcare students

Warrington & Vale Royal College are incredibly proud of the staff and students supporting the community in the midst of the Coronavirus pandemic. Our Level 3 Health & Social Care and HNC Healthcare Practice students are working on the frontline in a variety of care settings across the local area, providing vital help and support. The knowledge, determination and compassion our students are displaying during this difficult time is truly admirable. Health & Social Care student Ethan Harkin has also made the college extremely proud. Ethan recently completed work experience at Making Space Health & Social Care Services, a national charity providing specialist care and support to people in their own homes. Ethan has been praised by the charity for volunteering to run an online music group for members ‚Äì‚Äòukulele for beginners‚Äô. Ethan‚ kind gesture will boost wellbeing and support local people at risk of feeling isolated. Electrical tutor Steve Haney has also contributed to the coronavirus response by creating 130 surgical mask straps with his 3D printer. Healthcare workers are required to wear protective face masks at all times, and the straps that Steve has made will take the pressure off their ears. Steve‚ ‚Äòear savers‚Äô were donated to the local hospital and his hard work is very much appreciated. As a college we are immensely grateful for all the inspirational NHS staff, carers and key workers in the UK, and will be showing our support by joining in with the national applause each Thursday. The names of our hardworking frontline students are listed below, and we will be certainly keeping them in our thoughts as we show our appreciation each week.
