Amazing alumni Shyam Patel produces MRI film for the NHS

Previous Graphic Design student Shyam Patel has collaborated with the University of Huddersfield and NHS Calderdale and Huddersfield to produce a short film to reassure young people undergoing MRI scans. Shyam says: "The film is aimed at children under 16 and provides information and reassurance for young people having MRI scans, for them and their families".

Talented Shyam, former student of Tarporley High School, completed a Level 3 Graphic Design course at the college's Winsford campus before progressing onto the University of Huddersfield to continue his studies by undertaking a degree in Graphic Design. Shyam loved his time at college, saying: "Warrington & Vale Royal College has certainly helped me to become who I am today. The efforts and lengths my tutors (especially Jayne and Ellie) went to, to communicate, guide and push me above and beyond my limits enabled me to creatively think at a level I never thought I was capable of reaching".

Shyam is flourishing at university and feels his degree is stimulating his creative growth and helping him reach his ultimate goal of running his own studio and having a positive global impact.

Shyam says he would definitely recommend studying graphic design and advises future students to "study graphic design with an open mind and be curious- the learning process is where you will extract maximum value.

The college is incredibly proud of Shyam and delighted to hear about the amazing project he has completed with the NHS. Click here to see Shyam's fantastic video, and find out more about Graphic Design at Warrington & Vale Royal College here.
