Throughout this short adult course, you’ll be introduced to essential cake‑decorating foundations, working with fondant, experimenting with colour, and creating themed decorations. Each week builds your skills step by step, helping you move from simple techniques to creating a complete Easter‑themed cake by the end of the course.
Why should I choose the course?
This course will introduce you being able to make your own Easter themed cakes using fondant decorations that you make in class each week.
The February/March course is Easter themed.
You will start by making toppers and progress onto how to cover a cake and add your fondant decorations.
What will I learn?
During this short adult course, you will:
- Learn how to cover a cake in fondant icing.
- Explore blending techniques using food colouring to colour the icing.
- Use cutters, moulds, and tools to create decorative designs.
- Learn skills and techniques to make a 3D Easter bunny.
- In the final week, attach all your creations to a homemade or shop‑bought cake.
You will be informally assessed by your tutor and self‑assess your weekly progress using an individual learning plan.
