What is the course about?

GCSE Combined Science is a one-year course aimed at adult students (aged 19+) who wish to gain or improve a science qualification. It covers a broad range of biology, chemistry, and physics modules, preparing you for further study of the subject. This course is particularly suited for adult students planning to study a Pre-Access or Level 3 Access to Higher Education diploma at the college, with the goal of pursuing a degree in a healthcare or science-related field.

What will I learn?

On this course, you will develop a fundamental knowledge of biology, chemistry, and physics.

Chemistry units will build on the basics of atomic structure and link this into both quantitative and organic chemistry and their applications in the real world.

Physics will tie in fundamental principles from all areas such as forces and energy, and will enhance students understanding of electromagnetism, electricity production, waves, and radiation - with a clear focus on potential careers.
