Catering Assistant

Warrington & Vale Royal College is seeking to appoint a term time only Catering Assistant to work at the Warrington campus.

The successful candidates will be required to work 37 weeks per year. Currently we have a requirement for 27.5 hours per week, commencing the end of August 2023, with various shifts between 8am and 7.30pm (two shifts till 7.30pm). Suitable candidates must have catering front of house/servery experience, preferably in a busy school/college setting, and have experience in the following:-

  • Epos tills
  • Counter service
  • Food preparation and cooking
  • Close down procedures

It is desirable that you have a Food hygiene certificate, BTEC or NVQ equivalent in a catering related subject.

Suitable candidates will ideally have, or be working towards, a degree or equivalent in English and/ or Maths or other suitable qualification. This role may suit someone who is considering a teaching career or who is looking for a rewarding and challenging role working with our students. Key to this post are excellent interpersonal skills, patience and empathy. You will need to be pro-active, flexible and dynamic in responding to individuals or groups of students and supporting the tutors in delivering the course. Familiarity with the English and maths GCSE specifications would be advantageous
