Set in a mysterious afterlife, Afterwards follows the journey of a young girl navigating the land of the dead. Karen’s storytelling has captivated readers, leaving them eager for the next instalment. Karen plans to write two more books in the series, continuing the adventure for both her characters and her readers.

On this fantastic achievement, Karen said: “Publishing a book of my own has been a long time coming, and I am very proud of myself for achieving this. It’s such a surreal feeling having your very own book in your hands.”

Since joining the college in 2018, Karen has inspired adult students with her passion for literature and creative storytelling. Her relaxed and encouraging teaching style fosters a collaborative environment where each student’s goals are carefully nurtured, supporting their growth as writers.

Tim Evans, Curriculum Manager for Adult Community Learning at the college, is delighted to be celebrating Karen’s success. He says: “Karen’s dedication to her craft and her students is truly inspiring. Watching her guide aspiring writers in the classroom and then seeing her achieve her own dreams of becoming a published author has been incredible. She brings the same passion and creativity to both her teaching and her writing, and we’re proud to have her as part of our team here at Warrington & Vale Royal College.”

She ensures that every student has the chance to express their individuality and helps them achieve their personal writing goals. Her classes are a supportive space where aspiring authors can hone their craft, gain confidence, and work toward their own literary goals.
